32GI Low GI Endurance Energy Drink (+ Chews)
Mar 8th
I can happily and graciously report that 32GI has just come on board with Team Jeep as our official energy drink suppliers. To quote from their website:
32Gi™ is different from conventional high GI endurance energy drinks. With a Glycemic Index (GI) of only 32, its unique formulation helps your body release the exact amount of glucose you need for sustained energy. At the same time, it promotes fat store tapping to deliver the balance of the energy. The result is a longer lasting, more balanced energy supply, with zero ‘spiking’.

Ergofit bike set up
Mar 2nd
I just got helped with my bike set up thanks to Gareth Harrington using the Ergofit bike set up system. The best way to explain Ergofit is to simply quote from their site which states the following:
Ergofit is a scientifically developed cycle fitting product.
Unlike other products which use static measurements of body proportions, Ergofit incorporates dynamic values such as flexibility and neuromuscular efficiency to accurately predict optimal bike fit.
Ergofit has been developed by using advanced regression algorithms to evaluate which factors influence bike fit. Through these techniques, we can predict measurements such as saddle height with extreme accuracy, developing high correlation co-efficients for biological systems.
It was interesting for me to note some small changes that needed to be made. For more information and how to book an appointment with Gareth, drop him an email at gharrington

Salomon Relax recovery shoe, the Salomon RX S-lab
Mar 8th
Just over a week ago, myself and a couple of the Team Jeep South Africa athletes were given a pair of the new Salomon Relax recovery shoes. Wearing them at the Epworth Mudman, the 3 day Sani2C Mountain bike event and the Midlands Sprint Triathlon, they certainly have caused a stir to say the least! I’ve had countless people coming up to me and asking me about them so with some time in hand today, I decided it was time to do some research on them myself and do a quick write up.
According to the Salomon website “This after sport choice of endurance athletes provides breathability and cushioning for tired feet. Slips on and off.”. After spending over 13hours dancing on my mtb pedals at Sani2C, I have to admit that these shoes were a pleasure to slip into to walk around the campsites. The shoes themselves are made with a breathable open mesh and have an upper elastic for easy entry – an important feature when slipping into the shoes without socks. The shoe has a protective synthetic toe cap and weighing in at only 205g per shoe you barely notice they’re there. As I’ve worn them in I can feel the sole beginning to mold around my feet making them extremely comfortable. To compare them to other shoes, they feel a bit like good old stokies that we have all slipped into at night at some point in our lives but with extra cushioning and more breathability they are far more superior.
Apparently they will be hitting the SA market soon where you should be able to get your hands on a pair at Sportmans Warehouses, Camping and Outdoors and Cape Union Mart stores.
